Tree Survey

BSI

Arboricultural information is collected and recorded in preparation of a tree constraints plan to assist with the site layout design. The following arboricultural information is recorded:

  • Tree positions
  • Tree reference number
  • Species; common and scientific name
  • Trunk diameter
  • Branch spread in metres N S E W
  • Tree height in metres
  • Age class
  • Physiological condition
  • Shrub masses and relevant site features
  • Structural condition
  • Preliminary management recommendations & wildlife habitat potential
  • Estimated remaining contribution in years
  • Category grading using Table 1

Using a topographical site survey drawing; the trees, shrub masses and relevant site features are accurately plotted as a scale drawing and cross referenced to a spreadsheet to be included on the site plan that can include supportive photographic images to illustrate design distances, aims and site considerations such as changes in ground level.
