Tree Constraints Plan & Root Protection Area

The tree survey data and site plan illustrate the influence trees have on the site and form a tree constraints plan. So as to minimise the damage to tree roots, a root protection area is calculated using British Standard 5837 Table 2. This root protection area is plotted on the site plan and represents a minimum area that is left undisturbed around each retained tree.

We plot to scale the N. S. E. W tree canopy extents. This provides a more accurate representative reflection of site conditions and constraints such as access for heavy plant or scaffolding requirements for roofing.

The tree constraints plan as a design tool illustrates the below ground constraints represented by the root protection area and also includes the above ground constraints identified by tree size, position and tree canopy extents.
