Japanese Knotweed Surveys
Japanese Knotweed can rapidly overgrow landscapes and cause serious structural damage. If unchecked it will choke watercourses, private properties, business units, derelict land, and woodlands. It is a significant problem in land restoration and causes serious problems including expensive delays in development projects.
The Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981, makes it an offence to spread Japanese knotweed.
Section 34 of the Environment Protection Act, 1990, places a duty of care on all waste producers to ensure that any wastes are disposed of safely.
